Intensive one week Landscape Painting & Creativity Art Workshop. Color theory. A lecture on contemporary and modern art will be on each evening. It is as well an art appreciation course.

WHAT IS THIS WORKSHOP ALL ABOUT, HOW IS THIS WORKSHOP DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SIMILAR WORKSHOPS YOU MIGHT FIND ON-LINE:  
 
Tjaša Iris, an internationally acclaimed artist will guide you in order for you to explore your creative potential, develop your own painting style and see and be inspired in some of the most beautiful places in the world as TUSCANY, Italy.  
 
This workshop is going to open your eyes on art. It will make you discover your own creativity. Your visual creativity. You will learn a lot about painting. Tjaša will work with you so that you develop your own personal style. It is as well an art appreciation course for those of you who love art and will wish to know more about it. It is also a cultural & gourmet tour. You will get to know a lot about the country that you will be visiting. About its art & history. It is for you to enjoy their best wines & cuisine. It will be about pleasurable painting. Plein air landscape painting. Four hours of painting per day and one hour of an evening slide lecture - art appreciation course. It will be about relaxing and having fun while learning and discovering. Many museum & cultural sites visits. In a couple of afternoons you will be as well invited to go trekking with Tjaša. And more... What makes Tjaša Iris UNIQUE is that she is not just one more instructor out there, she is also an international artist who made it in the Art World! She had museum shows and has more planned. She had a recent Solo Show at BACC Bangkok Arts and Culture Center that was visited by more than 100 000 persons! Her work is in museum collections... She studied Fine Art in Florence at an International School. She is holding painting workshops in Europe and Asia since 1996, in Tuscany for about 15 years. She is fluent in English, Italian as well as in Tuscan dialect! She knows Tuscany and its art and culture since she was a teen. Just how special is that!!!
 
 
DAY BY DAY: The first day will be about loosing the fear and about getting loose. In the following days we will get more intellectual, but we will also play a lot. Tjaša finds learning through having fun as the most important way of learning & making progress in life. You will be painting without thinking, you will analyze lots of paintings painted by very famous artists with Tjaša. Learn about the visual. Analyze from the highest intellectual point of view why something works and why something else does not. The visual language, the energy of colour, about being personal, what makes certain painters genius, about powerful, passion, about joy of life…

Contact your Professional Development office. As well as The Fund for Teachers http://www.fundforteachers.org/ Recipients receive up to $5,000 each. This workshop can obtain you a credit to be applied to your Continuing Education - Teacher Development requirement. If you are completing an Advanced Degree you can ask your university for a credit as if you are doing an Independent Study course.

 ABOUT TJAŠA IRIS

 
Our represented artist is a European, Slovenian born, Italian by adoption, Austrian by ancestry as well as a world citizen currently living between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. She speaks a fluent Italian, Tuscan dialect included! 
She studied Fine Art in Florence, Italy, at the International School of Fine Art Fortman Studios, later on at Staffordshire Polytecnic, Stoke-on-Trent, England, Accademia di Belle Arti, Venice, Italy and earned her M.F.A. in Painting from Fine Art Academy Minerva, Groningen, The Netherlands. Her painting career is international and spans over 22 years. Her last exhibitions took place at important institutions such as Austrian Embassy in Bangkok in 2018, BACC Bangkok Art and Culture Center in 2017, Jamjuree Art Gallery an Art Museum of Chulalongkorn University in 2004, Chiang Mai Art Museum in 2013, The Substation Art Center in Singapore in 2012….
She is organizing and holding painting workshops since 1996.

MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM

 

San Donato village


Emphasis will be put on perception and observation, as the bases to painting. I will help you develop your personal outlook, as well as inspire your imagination in all this magical places and to help you appreciate art to the full. We will paint 4 hours every morning. You may work on sketches for the first few days, and than proceed to more accomplished works derived from these last. Or you may simply paint two or three works a day. If for some reason, you want to wonder and explore the territory during  these days, you are pleased to do so. Hiking trips will be organized for you for two afternoons. Walking the Tuscan land you will be able to get to know better the light and the colors of it. We will do a stop where you will be able to scatch or photograph. Some people do not like to hike, in that case you will have a chance to stay and paint at San Donato. My reccommandation is by the swimming-pool from where you will be able to see a big part of Tuscany, too. One afternoon we will spend at San Gimignano. And two whole days we will be travelling to other towns in Tuscany. In the evenings we will discuss the work done during the day and see numerous “slides” of contemporary and modern art.

Light lunch. Afternoon visit to San Gimignano, visit of the old city with the fortress, entrance to the Cathedral where we will see frescos of Barna di Siena, Benozzo Gozzoli, Bartolo di Fredi, Ghirlandaio… 6.30 pm slide lecture 8 pm dinner

- one whole day excursion to Volterra with visit of world most famous Etruscan Museum that hold the most famous Etruscan sculpture "Shadow of the evening" "Ombra della sera".

DAY 6


Departure at 9 am. A whole day painting excursion across little towns of Tuscany, a visit to two museums with Tuscan paintings in the town of Sienna: visit of cathedral and Piccolomini Library inside the cathedral with frescos of Pintoricchio, visit to ancient fortified town of
   Monteriggioni, where we will paint in the afternoon.
 
8 pm dinner
- one whole day excursion across little towns of Tuscany
a visit to the town of Sienna: the Cathedral and Piccolomini Library inside the Cathedral with frescos of Pintoricchio. In the afternoon we will drive to spectacular fortified town Monteriggioni  where we will paint in the afternoon. On the way back we will stop for a dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 8
 
Departure in the morning.
 
 
Admissions are opened to participants of all ages and levels from beginners to advanced.
 
We realize how important it is for you to travel light. We will provide all you need for your lessons: acrylic paints, brushes, canvases, paper,  French easels, chairs... (just if you wish to work in any different mediums, I ask you to bring your own paints).
 
Because the workshop is limited to 8 participants, I encourage you to send your enrolment form with deposit as soon as possible. In event of inclement weather, arrangements will be made for indoor painting. There will be no rain dates or refunds for inclement weather.
I encourage non painter partner to join us by offering them reduced rates.

Non-painters are invited to join us for daily excursions, meals and evening art appreciation course.
